Locke is a Mandarin and English-speaking transmasculine Asian American therapist who believes in the power of deep listening and the “activism cure” in returning power, peace, and agency to those who had it abruptly taken from them. Locke’s methods create meaning, purpose, and beauty from all that still remains, free from pressure or judgment. He can help you search for creative methods of integration - understanding perplexing events or figuring out which perspective and narrative gives you the most clarity, without the burden of unnecessary labels from society dictating what your identity should be at the expense of who you really are. Locke’s collaborative and eclectic approach can be tailored to your needs - the goal is to provide a space where you can be fully, authentically yourself until you trust that you will feel deeply understood during therapy sessions. His belief that growth is possible for everyone, especially after radical acceptance of oneself and one’s circumstances, motivates him to examine and reflect upon the factors behind any unmet expectations you might have of yourself, your life, or even the sessions. Too often do disillusioned people give up when relief or a breakthrough may be just around the corner. Locke is deeply influenced by philosophies of humanism, absurdism, and stoicism as well as the books “Man’s Search for Meaning” and “Transcend: The New Science of Self-Actualization.” His anti-oppressive restorative justice values are his north star - he is honored to accompany you in discovering yours, no matter what it may be, no matter how your story unfolds.
