Biography
Andre Gavrin earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Plattsburgh, following a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Between his undergraduate and graduate studies, he worked as a counselor supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. During graduate school, he expanded his experience by serving both as a campus mental health counselor and as a counselor for individuals experiencing homelessness. Throughout his clinical journey, Andre has cultivated a deep understanding of human behavior and emotional resilience. He has worked with individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, and his approach emphasizes creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Andre is particularly experienced in working with relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. His counseling style is rooted in a person-centered framework and incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, somatic practices, and Existential Therapy. Andre works collaboratively with clients to tailor approaches that best meet their individual needs and goals.
