Biography

Psychotherapy is a powerful tool in the right pair of hands. As a clinician we listen, understand, and meet you where you are. We are an objective third party who do not hold preconceived notions about your life, or your family. Mental health impacts everyone, some more powerfully than others. Some for long periods of time, some for short, acute periods of time. I have worked as a social worker across Long Island for 9 years engaging with families, friends, community members that we see every day at the store and on the street. I’ve also worked with the vulnerable and downtrodden that we don’t typically see. Through my education and training I have learned to actively participate in a person’s recovery process.

Young adolescents who struggle dealing with the pressure of school and peer groups, I understand you. College graduates struggling with debt and a competitive job market, I understand you. Young fathers who struggle with the emotional stress of being a father, husband, and provider simultaneously, I understand you. Middle aged women overcoming the loss of a parent, or the loss of a spouse earlier than expected, I understand you. An older adult losing their friends around them while dealing with new physical disabilities, I understand you.

Change is inevitable in life, for good and bad. During volatile, painful changes, reaching out for help can make a difference. To target short term depression and anxiety, I use cognitive behavioral therapy to identify your irrational and illogical thought patterns human minds fixate on to move past mental challenges. For patients who seek more healthy and stable relationships, I will use psycho dynamic theory as a modality to better understand how your childhood and upbringing impact how you manage and maintain current day relationships.
